A bright loop front was seen in C2 at 10:26 UT in the SW; by 11:06 UT this bright front spanned ~150 deg from the S pole to the NW and had faint extensions arounding the rest of the C2 occultor. The front first appeared in C3 images in the SW at 11:18 UT and was bright from the S to NW with faint extension elsewhere by 12:18 UT. The mean plane-of-sky speed was 1234 km/s, measured at PA 271 with possible evidence for acceleration through the C2 field of view but highly linear through C3. The CME was probably associated with complex solar activity. Between 09:00 - 11:12 UT EIT observed an eruptive prominence in the SW, accompanied by two separate flares. SEC records two flares from AR 0508 between 09:40 - 09:54 UT and 12:47 - 13:22 UT, of magnitude C7.2 and M1.4. Additionally there was an earlier C3.9 flare from the same active region between 07:57 - 08:17 UT. The EIT prominence was centered about S13W65. A substantial dimming was observed to the N and E of the prominence, centered around N20W12 and coincidentally timed. This event has therefore been determined frontsided.
